It's always a raucous when the Red Bull Music Academy comes to town. And this event with the Master At Work would be no different. Judging by the line that practically went around the block, there was an excitement in the air and you knew this was going to be a special event.

It's safe to say that Move D is one of those underrated Djs who's really infact a Dj's DJ. Aside from releasing records for well established labels since about '94, he's also known for diverse sets that can range from Deep House to Techno, Acid House to Tech-House, he even does a number of live sets with Reagenz (w/ Jonah Sharp) or Magic Mountain High (w/ Juju & Jordash). One of his latest gems is one he did for Electric Minds called "Got 2 Be", which is part of a 3-track EP called Hybrid Minds.

Originally released in 1998, Point G's "Underwater" just got a reissue last month. I remember first hearing this in a Laurent Garnier set or CD (I think) almost 10 years ago and thought, "I need this fucking track".

Gregory Darsa is a dj/producer from Paris, France that goes by a few aliases - DJ Gregory being the most popular. He's been in the game since the late 90s and has gone on to release a number of records for the likes of Defected and his own Faya Combo.

Much more than a web radio gem, a record label, and an events page, MyHouseYourHouse is a family of DJs dedicated to bringing you a special, personalized vision of underground dance music. Shows and events are also put on around the world from London to Miami. This is a special shout out to my radio site for staying true to the music and long-lasting vision.

#27 New York City has a rich history of legendary clubs and DJs. But there was one venue that inspired them all. The Loft was a space in NYC that was brought to fame by resident DJ David Mancuso, the sound system, and of course the music. The club had nothing to distract its patrons from the music: no food, alcohol or drinks for that matter. And Mancuso had a distinct style in the way he presented the music - and that's playing records in their entirety, from start to finish, with no mixing. So this Fluxes is more of a result of the inspiration and power a set can have when focusing on the message of the songs themselves and the set as a whole, rather than a mixture of tracks. This set is vinyl-only and is dedicated to a message: Love for you and the music. Thank you David.

It's nothing new that vinyl has seemingly made a "comeback" to the modern age. We know about the superior sound quality, but in my opinion there's a distinct artistry involved with records. Be it the cover artwork, the vinyl label, or even the sexy grooves, there's no doubt that vinyl is something special of the past, present, and future. Going behind the scenes, For The Record takes us to varies countries such as England, Switzerland, and Germany and talks to a variety of vinyl manufacturers, pressers/cutters, and audio engineers regarding the preservation of records.

One of my current favorite Deep House producers is Fred P aka Black Jazz Consortium. He makes profound House Music that's full of body and soul. It's moody in every way and "Emotive Vibration" is a perfect example. This 12-min masterpiece on Finale Sessions is dreamy, groovy, and unworldly.

Ah, 1995. Such a nice year for house music. Sampling was at the height of its day and producers like Terrance Parker is one of the innovators of the art. Parker goes under many different aliases; Disco Revisited being one of them. Here, he samples 1979 disco classic Candido - Thousand Finger Man. Taking the main groove, looping it, splashing some vocals here and there is all you really need to get the dance floor going.

Nu Groove Records ('88-'92)

If not, one of my favorite labels of all time, Nu Groove. A New York label that made a LOT of noise back in the late 80's/early 90s (and still sounds so fresh today). This was a label dedicated for DJs by DJs. From the Burrell Brothers, to Bobby Konders, to Kenny Dope, to Frankie Bones, the list goes on and on of innovators who have all gone on to make huge underground classics, and careers. I'll stop and let the video do all the talking.

Business Week In wake of the devastating hurricane that hit the east coast of the US last week, I want to focus attention away from the music and the lifestyle stuff for a moment and get real.
